Legal AI that holds itself to the standards of the profession.
Overview
The Laine Library holds curated templates prepared and kept up to date by practising lawyers, alongside the ones you or your team builds. Contract templates, memos and letters, term sheets and playbooks all sit together, filtered by jurisdiction and by category.
The benefit is in where you start. Instead of looking for an old template and working out what has changed since, you take the current one and adjust it by asking Laine, which guides you through the changes and flags issues and risks as they come up.
Finding the right template
Jurisdiction first, then category
Set the jurisdiction and the Library narrows to what applies there. From that point you browse by category, or describe the document to Laine and let it bring the template to you.
Categories
Templates are grouped by the kind of work they belong to, so you only browse the ones that apply. A few of the categories:
Acquisition
Share and asset deals, from term sheet through to completion documents.
Commercial agreements
The day to day set: services, supply, distribution, licensing and confidentiality.
Security and collateral
Pledges, guarantees and the documents that sit around a secured facility.
Notary module
Documents drawn up in the form notarisation requires, ready for the appointment.
Organizational and governance
Board minutes, organizational resolutions and stock transfer agreements.
Debt finance
Promissory notes, security agreements and pledge agreements.
If you already know what you need, type the document name in the search bar and the available templates come up straight away.
Drafting from a template
Adjust it by asking, not by hunting
Select a template and drafting carries on as it always does: Laine asks for the facts the document needs, then produces the draft. See Drafting for the full flow.
Feel free to adjust the templates where needed, by simply communicating it in the chat. Laine will flag anything about it worth knowing.
Your own templates
Add, use, update, share, all in one place
Upload the precedents you already trust and they join the Library beside the Laine ones. Draft from them the same way, update them as positions move, and share them so anyone you work with drafts from the same version you do.
Playbooks live here too, which is what keeps a shared template from drifting. See Playbooks for how positions are recorded and applied.
