Laine is built for people who work with sensitive documents — legal professionals, businesses, and teams that need to know their information is handled with care.
Security and privacy are not added later. They are part of the platform from the start.
Privacy by design
We collect only the information needed to provide the service.
Documents, drafts, and messages are processed only for the actions requested by the user. They are not used to train AI models, shared with advertisers, or reused for unrelated purposes.
When AI drafting features are used, relevant content is processed through enterprise infrastructure under zero-retention settings: the text is used to generate the output and deleted immediately afterwards.
No routine access to identifiable user content takes place. Any exceptional access remains strictly controlled, limited, documented, and subject to internal safeguards.
Security by design
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
Access to production systems is restricted through role-based permissions, strong authentication requirements, and regular access review.
User workspaces are logically isolated to prevent cross-access between accounts.
We maintain logging of significant system events, incident response procedures, and security review of third-party providers before onboarding.
AI Governance
AI features are designed to assist with drafting and structuring — not to replace human judgment.
Outputs generated through the platform are intended to be reviewed before use in legal, contractual, or professional contexts.
AI providers operate under enterprise agreements that prohibit retention of and training on user content.
Where possible, requests are minimised to reduce exposure of identifying information.
Standards and Governance
Our controls are structured around internationally recognised frameworks, including ISO 27001 and SOC 2 principles, GDPR and Swiss data protection law, and emerging AI governance standards. Formal independent certification is currently in progress.
Accountability
Compliance is treated as an operational discipline embedded in product decisions, governance, and vendor oversight.
